Brand Seasons® Playgroup
A creative collective, guided by the Brand Seasons® Method
As a designer, mentor and writer with over 20 years of experience, I created the Brand Seasons® Playgroup as an extension of the Playdeck. Now it becomes an extension of both the deck and my upcoming book, and an opportunity to bring life to your brand in a supportive space.
This experience is for creatives of all kinds — whether you're building a business, launching a new product or service or refreshing your identity. Together, we explore the phases of Strategy, Style, Story and Substance.
No business? No problem. The Playgroup is just as valuable for those in the idea phase of a new project or venture, or if you simply want to learn more about branding as a concept.
THIS IS FOR YOU IF:
You're building a brand — or dreaming one up — and want a framework to guide you through it, season by season
You've read about branding, listened to the podcasts, bought the courses — but you still haven't found your story
You want to work on your brand in community, not in isolation, and you're open to learning from others as much as from me
You're a creative, a maker, a founder or someone with an idea, and you want to shape that idea with intention
You're drawn to a slower, more seasonal approach to brand-building that respects your energy and capacity
Note: you don't need a business to join. If you have an idea, are building a creative practice, or just have a desire to explore your brand strategy, style and story, you have all you need.
Our experience
Over six months — from November to April — we'll move through the four phases of the Brand Seasons® Method: Strategy, Style, Story and Substance.
The pace is gentle, with each phase spread out to keep the workload manageable. Integration weeks, a festive break and a half-term break are built into the process.
EACH MONTH INCLUDES:
Live workshop (90 min) — exploring concepts and exercises together so you leave with a firm starting point.
Co-working session (90 min) — focused, companionable work time with check-ins at the start and end.
Integration week — no new content, no new homework. Time to rest, let things settle or continue.
Our schedule
Here’s the plan for our time together. Integration weeks are included between workshops to give you space to reflect, process and apply what you’ve learned.
Note: Sessions are likely to run on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10:00–11:30 GMT/BST. Recordings of the welcome/closing and workshop/mentoring sessions will be made available and you’ll also have access to a bank of resources.
When you join the Playgroup, you'll also get six months access to the Brand Seasons® Collective — a private space for ongoing conversation, resources and connection with other creatives.
-
We’ll begin with an orientation session to set the tone for our time together. This is about creating a sense of community and defining personal objectives as we settle into this shared space of creativity.
Together, we’ll:
Explore how the sessions and workshops will flow and consider how to get the most out of this experience.
Get to know each other and begin fostering the supportive environment that’s at the heart of the Playgroup.
Set intentions for your brand journey so you can identify what a successful outcome looks like for you.
I’ll also draw inspiration from the Playdeck and share resources as we move through the program, ensuring you feel equipped to explore and experiment in your own way.
-
The Season of Sowing is a spring-like phase for laying brand foundations and sees us making plans and setting goals, as well as establishing our brand vision, purpose and beliefs.
-
The Season of Blossoming is all about focus and action, and our attention will turn to moodboard curation and reviewing our logo, palette and typography.
-
The ‘autumnal’ period of the framework, a Season of Harvesting, sees us focus on refining our brand narrative, character and messaging.
-
We then transition into the brief, cosy and reflective ‘winter’ Season of Grounding, an opportunity to root your brand in credibility, authority and loyalty.
-
After working together over the course of six months, we’ll conclude our time together by reflecting on what we’ve achieved, celebrating the progress you’ve made and identifying key takeaways to carry forward.
This session is about acknowledging your growth, solidifying your next steps and ensuring you feel confident continuing your journey independently. Together, we’ll:
Share insights and wins from the past six months.
Explore how to maintain momentum and sustain your brand-building efforts.
Create an action plan for the next phase of your project or business.
This is a space to honour your progress, connect with your peers one last time and look ahead confidently.
YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH:
A clear brand strategy — your vision, purpose, and beliefs, articulated in your own voice
A defined brand style — moodboard, palette, typography and visual direction that feels like you
A brand story you can actually use — across your website, social media, emails and conversations
A foundation with substance — the authority, confidence and energy to keep going
A community of creatives who've been through it with you

A gift for you
When you join the Playgroup, you'll also receive the Brand Seasons® Playdeck — a pocket-sized source of brand wisdom and guidance with 48 prompts and practices to help you craft your brand strategy, style and story. Use it to:
Move through the cards in order, aligning with the seasons
Pull a card for daily inspiration when you're feeling stuck
Explore a specific focus area
The deck was born from a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over £10,000 from more than 120 backers.
During the Playgroup, I'll take inspiration from the Playdeck, sharing resources and guiding you through the cards so you find your own flow with them.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
-
No. The Playgroup is a standalone experience. That said, this round is timed to coincide with the book's launch, so if you want the full experience, you'll get the most out of it. But the book isn't required.
-
Yes — this is Playgroup 2.0. The core method is the same, but the experience has been refreshed and restructured. Returning members get £240 off as a thank you for helping shape the first round. You'll find new exercises and deeper exploration, enriched by the book.
-
Plan for at least 3–4 hours per month: one 90-minute workshop, one co-working session, and time to work through the exercises during your integration week. You can go deeper if you want, but the structure is designed to be manageable.
-
Not at all. The Playgroup is just as valuable for those in the idea phase of a new project or venture. If you have a creative practice, a side project or a desire to explore your brand story, you're in the right place.
-
Yes. Payment plans are available, and you can choose an option at the checkout.
-
All workshops and mentoring sessions are recorded and made available to the group. Co-working sessions are live-only by nature, but missing one won't hold you back — the integration week gives you time to catch up.
-
If you're building something — a business, a project, even just an idea — and you care about how it's seen and felt by the world, you're creative enough. The Playgroup is for people who want to approach their brand with intention, not perfection.
